35th Annual Houston Dog Show

I took the boys to the 35th Annual Houston Dog Show today.  It was fun seeing all the different dogs.  They really loved the fly ball dogs and walking through the staging area where the dogs are kept to bathe and groom.  Rainey scored some free food and snacks for Gunner.

The first three pics are dog houses entered into a Silent Auction.  It was amazing to see how big and elaborate these were.  Aden thought they were little houses for him.

Pretty awesome dog house

Football dog house

Groovy!!

This dog reminded them of Heidi, Oma and Opa's dog, just a larger version.

This was an 8 month old Mastiff that loved Rainey (because Rainey had a treat in his pocket he was saving for Gunner).

Rainey found his ticklish spot.

Poor baby...completely passed out on the floor when we got home.  He didn't even wake up when I put him in bed and put his pull-ups on.

A boy's best friend

I am not really sure what Gunner wanted, but he first stood in front of Rainey while Rainey was watching TV.  After Rainey didn't pay him any attention, he sat down, then laid down, then rolled over onto his side.  A few minutes later, it was nap time and Gunner followed Rainey into bed and they both took a nap.  Maybe he was trying to tell Rainey it was time to sleep.

Sea Center Texas and Surfside

Today's trip turned into an all day adventure.   We drove to Sea Center Texas, about 1 hour outside of Houston.  While there, I learned that Surfside (a local beach) was only 15 minutes away.  So we drove to Surfside, ate lunch and walked on the beach.

They loved the fish in the tank next to them.

Learning about a rock crab in the touch tank.  We also saw hermit crabs, blue crabs, and spider crabs.

Turtles!

Rainey loves sunflowers!

Rainey checking out the sky/clouds.

Cutest nerd ever!!  Being silly at lunch.

Running from the water.

Best buds!

Houston Fire Museum

Aden was invited to the Houston Fire Museum for Asher's 3rd birthday party.  That was a cool place.

Aden driving the fire truck with birthday boy Asher in the passenger seat.

Aden checking the house for fires.

Getting ready to slide down the pole.  Later in the party, he decided to jump off.  Luckily he was okay.  Scared everyone!

He loved the mask, but wouldn't put the jacket on.

Putting out fires!
Nap time in the living room.

What do we do on rainy days?

We baked 52 chocolate chip, M&M, peanut butter cookies and make our own homemade puffy paint.

Rainey lost his first tooth, already

Yesterday I took the boys to a play date at Monkey Joe's, a bounce house place.  While talking to a few moms about how busy the place was and how one mom's son got a bloody nose there last week, Rainey comes out of one of the bounce houses crying with his tooth broken and blood everywhere.  I took him straight to the dentist and the x-ray showed he broke his tooth at the root and they needed to pull it.  He will be without a tooth until his permanent one comes in, another 2 yrs or so.  On the way home from the dentist, he said "I always wanted to lose a tooth."  He was a trooper during this whole ordeal.

Just arrived at the dentist

Calmed down, watching TV, and waiting to be called back

Yep, it's broken!

40 minutes later, tooth pulled and drowsy from the meds

Rainey's "invoice" to the tooth fairy.  He loves the number "100".

Rainey was so excited the Tooth Fairy left him this letter and $1.00 (which is also 100 pennies).
We went to a birthday party this past weekend where Rainey made this hat.  It really shows off his blue eyes.  This is before he lost his front tooth.

Triathlon season has started

Chip participated in his first triathlon of the season, Jeff & Brede's Intergalatic Triathlon 20th Anniversary.  The boys and I made it in time to see him switch off from the bike to running and watch him cross the finish line. We were proud of him!

Cold water bath after the finish.

Oil Ranch

I took the boys to the Oil Ranch in Hockley, TX.  We opened the place at 10a and closed it down at 3p.  It was a blast!!

Welcome!

Rainey

Aden

Rainey really liked this donkey.  It followed  him up and down the fence.

Rainey milking a cow for the very first time.

Aden jumped right in and did it too!

Mining for sea shells, stones and shark teeth.

We enjoyed our own personal hay ride.

The tan cow was Rainey's favorite...he asked me to take a pic.

Enjoying a little pool time to cool off.

Oh yea....paint ball.

Anywhere there is a tractor, the boys will be on it.

The End.
