Alligators!

I took the boys to Brazos State Park to check out the alligators, have a picnic lunch, and play.  It was crazy how close we got to some of them.  The boys also enjoyed a couple of ladies fishing for perch to use for catfish later.  They had so much fun!  I think it's time to get a yearly pass for the state parks.

He's about 6 ft.

This guy was huge AND we had to walk past him!

This shot taken after we passed him.

A few seconds later, he decided to walk across.  I thought I $hit my pants!

Petting baby alligators.

Aden laughing at Rainey throwing rocks down the slide.

More practicing

Our long hallway is good for one thing....Rainey practicing to ride is bike.  He's been riding it back and forth for the last 30 minutes and getting really good at it.  We will go out after dinner and let him ride it on the sidewalk.  Aden is sitting on the couch eating yogurt-covered raisins watching him.

Carter's 3rd Birthday Party

Saturday, we went to Carter's 3rd birthday party.  He is a classmate of Rainey's.  Rainey loved the party favors.

Modeling his outfit from Aunt T before the birthday party.

New stroller

I bought a new double "umbrella" stroller for trips to the zoo, aquarium, etc., because every time we went on these short trips, Rainey wanted me to carry him.  I tried it out at the zoo the other day and this is what happened.  I guess he likes it!

I did use the double BOB jogging stroller this weekend to push the boys while I ran a 4 mile race benefiting the adoption chapter at our church.  The boys did great and didn't fuss the entire 4 miles.  I surprised myself by running the whole thing while pushing the stroller.  Chip usually pushes it while we run.  It's not easy!

We are local superstars

A friend called to tell me that the boys and I were in a local flyer sent out to the entire neighborhood advertising the Nature Adventure this weekend.  I got this flyer but didn't look at it because we aren't going to be able to go this year.  I dug the flyer out out of the trash and we are right in the middle.  I remember asking the photographer to take a picture of us because Chip was out of town/country that day.  He's out of the country again this year :(

Dinner outside

The boys decided they wanted to eat dinner outside on our "postage stamp" back porch.  Maybe when Daddy gets home, we can extend the porch and cover it for the upcoming hot summer days.

Gunner boy!

Busy morning

I decided to work on the yard this morning, while the boys played in the house.  I cut the grass, weed-eated, and edged.  I came inside to find Aden playing in the playroom and Rainey eating a bowl of candy that he got out of the cabinet using a dining room chair.  I expected to find worse and was pleasantly surprised.  Then the boys helped me spread 10 bags of mulch and planted four Hibiscus plants.

Go fly a kite

Rainey loved flying his new kite.  And since Opa says the wind blows all the time in Houston, we shouldn't have any problems flying it a lot!!
Aden's looking for his shoe :)

One loves haircuts and one loves to clean

Rainey has been asking for a "big boy" haircut since Tuesday.  I took him to my girl for the first time yesterday and he did great.  He really did need a haircut but I think he was asking so he could get a lollipop.  Aden wanted to sweep while Rainey was having his hair cut.

I was going to crop this picture but thought the lady on the left was funny covering her face with a magazine.

Memorial Park Train

Today we rode the train around Memorial Park for the first time.  We got off at the playground and played for a while.  Rainey kept raising his arms in the air yelling "woo-hoo".  Aden kept saying "choo-choo, all aboard".
