Train Park

It was such a beautiful day outside, I took the boys to the Train Park for lunch and to play before their naps.

Nature Adventure

Our neighborhood community held their First Annual Nature Adventure at the Lake House.  There were pony and camel rides, a petting zoo, snakes and fresbie dogs.  I took the double stroller and by the time we got home, both boys were sound asleep!

Talking!

All of a sudden, like a light switch turned on in Rainey's head, he is putting words together!  He has been signing for some time but now he says "thank you" and "please" while signing.  The other day after I gave him his juice, without me asking, he said "thank you mommy".  OMG!!  I wanted to cry!  Sweet boy!  He saw my glass of orange juice at breakfast and said "apple juice".  When I corrected him, he looked at me, then his sippy cup, and said "apple juice".  He was correct.  He can also say his name; however, it sounds like "Ray-Ray".

Aden is babbling.  He likes to squeal with a high voice and low voice, and says "da-da-da-da-da".  He is standing constantly and trying to move along furniture.  His favorite thing now is to stand in his crib when we wakes up or when he isn't ready to go to bed :)

We can't wait for Daddy to come home, who has been in Singapore for two weeks.  He will be home next Wednesday.  It will be interesting to see how much he says the boys have grown.

Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum again and had a blast.  We may have to buy yearly pass.  There's so much to do and see.

Checking himself out in the mirror

Rainey decided to flop down and see what everyone's doing

Only way to shop

Playing on the duvet

I was changing out the duvet cover earlier this week and the boys decided to have a little fun.

Dallas Rock'n'Roll 1/2 Marathon Finisher Photos

I am so proud of my husband for running the 1/2 marathon with me in Dallas.  We had a great time!  He is 100 lbs lighter and I know he feels great.  Not to mention, he looks great!!  We may run the Houston Full (or 1/2) in January.  Registration books up quickly so keep your fingers crossed.

What we did today

Here is Aden enjoying refried beans and rice at the Mexican restaurant for lunch.  Mommy enjoyed a Corona with lime :)

He ate whole peas and Kolbasa sausage for dinner and loved it.  He is definitely weaning himself from baby food.  Bring on the good stuff!!

On our nightly walk around the neighborhood, Rainey decided to stop and tell me about this tree and all of the leaves it has.

Eskimo kisses

Chip took this picture while we were talking on Skype (he's in Singapore).  Rainey loves to give Eskimo kisses!  He is a sweet boy!

Discovery Green

On Tuesday, I took the boys, with Becky and Maddy to Discovery Green to celebrate their second birthday.  We saw an "Alice in Wonderland" play, which I might say had some scary costumes but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Next time we'll bring swimsuits and let them get wet!
They didn't seem to mind watching.

Happy to be at doctor's office

Aden went back to the pediatricians's office on Monday for a follow-up to his ear infection a few weeks ago. He has a little fluid in his ear but not enough to warrant antibiotics.

Having snacks while we wait at doctor's office

Standing and animal sounds

Rainey saw me recording Aden standing at the train table, so I took the opportunity to ask him his animal sounds. I love his response to a rooster. If you listen closely, you can also hear him say "Aden" on the video. Click link below to see video.

Tunnel time

Peckham Park

I took the boys to the park yesterday to feed the ducks and play. It was 80 degrees outside with a nice breeze. Poor Rainey - his face gets so red just 5 minutes in the sun (and he won't wear a hat). Aden will be the same way.
