Breakfast at CFA

This is my favorite time of the weekend - family breakfast at CFA. Aden enjoyed cereal, applesauce and milk. Rainey didn't know what to think with Aden sitting in a high chair next to him. Good times!

Aden loves balls

What better way to encourage a baby crawl than with balls!

Elmo underwear

I was at Target earlier in the week picking up socks for Aden, when I came across Elmo underwear.  Here are a few pics of Rainey trying them out for size.  He lasted, uh, maybe ten minutes before I had to change him back into his diaper, if you know what I mean :)

Children's Museum

Last weekend, we went to Jack's second birthday party at the Children's Museum of Houston. This was such a cool place! I definitely want Daddy to go with us next time because I know he will have just as much fun as Rainey!

Where's Rainey?

Rainey decided that he wanted to load all of the blocks into the bed of the truck.  Initially, there was nothing in the bed.

I like carrots!

You may not be able to tell by this look, but Aden likes carrots (his first vegetable!). I started him on rice cereal this week but he just wasn't into it. So today I tried carrots. He loved them! However, when I mixed them with his cereal, he was not very thrilled. Oh well. Next on the menu, oatmeal cereal.

Class of 2026

Seahorses rule!

As you can see, Rainey has his signature look on his face. Ms. Nita said when he is introduced to something new, his face goes blank and he concentrates real hard. He was trying to figure out "Mr. Funny", the photographer. She did say when he does smile, it is so cute!!

Aden's 6 month check-up

Aden's appointment went well.  He is meeting all of the milestones and doing great!  He will be six months on the 15th at which time we will begin solids.  Fun times ahead!  I remember how messy it got with Rainey.

Valentine's Party

Today was Rainey's Valentine's party at school.  They enjoyed a craft, ate goldfish and cookies, drank juice and handed out valentines to their buddies.  This was Rainey's first time having a lollipop.  He didn't know how to suck on it so he bit off a little piece at a time.

One too many cookies?  Look at that belly!
I think it's the shirt.

Lollipop time

Flash cards

Rainey loves playing with his flash cards.  He can say dog, turtle, elephant, sun, moon, ladybug, etc.  I can't believe how much he knows already!

Check out Opa's wooden toys - the large "RG" truck and "Armi" the armadillo to the far right with a blankie on his head.

Rainey to Aden:  "Can you say cat?"
Aden gives him a strange look.
Rainey says:  "I can."

Bean bags

Warning:  Bean bags make great beds, but they're not as safe as one's crib or swing.

Just like his dad!

Birthday party, Elmo and Super Bowl

Wow! What a busy weekend we had!

Late Saturday afternoon, Rainey went to his friend, Summer's 2nd birthday party. It was at Westwood Gymnastics and so much fun!! He really enjoyed the foam pit.  Oh, did I mention he was the only boy - hehehehe :)

Sunday morning we went to church. We are going to the first service at 8:45 am, but Chip and I are also taking Dr. Emmerson's "Love and Respect" marriage class right after the service so the boys stay in child watch for two hours. When we picked up Rainey, he was sound asleep in on of the worker's arms.  I think he was still tired from the birthday party the day before. We went home for a quick nap, lunch, and then headed to see Sesame Street Live, featuring Elmo. Rainey was so cute! He absolutely loved it. He kept saying "Emo" (doesn't pronounce the "l" yet). I think Aden enjoyed it too. His eyes were wide open, looking at all the lights.

One hour after getting home from Sesame Street, we had friends over for Super Bowl. Go Saints!! Everyone was exhausted after the game.

He might actually make it to the Olympics one day :)
