Waving

Here's a short but cute video of Rainey waving (at the end). As you can see, he has a "limp noodle" as one of my friend's calls it.

Standing on my own

While cooking dinner last night, I left the back door open and Rainey crawled out onto the porch to play. He pulled himself up and grabbed Chip's horse whip off the table. I was able to snap a few pictures of him standing on his own - YEAH!!

First Step

Rainey took his first step Thursday, February 19. He can stand on his own for a few seconds but still prefers to crawl from point A to point B. He doesn't seem that excited about walking yet so I think it will be several weeks before he masters it.

Daddy let me in

How cute is this! Rainey is watching Daddy get his workout in. We eventually put him in his bouncy sit in the room with Daddy. It was so funny....Chip said that every time he would run, Rainey would bounce up and down in his seat. I wish I had that on video.

Yo Gabba Gabba

I ran across this show the other day on Nick Jr. called "Yo Gabba Gabba". As soon as I turned it on, Rainey turned to look right at the TV and would not move. He was entranced by it. Maybe it's the host (see picture below and you'll know what I mean) or the creepy animals. Either way, it kept his attention for almost the full 30 minutes. From talking to other parents who have seen the show, this happens to their kids as well. Check out of the video of him watching it.

"Little mans"

Here are some cute pics of "Little Mans", what Opa likes to call him.

We did it again!

It has been confirmed! Rainey is expecting a sibling in late August. I am 11 weeks as of yesterday (February 5). My nausea is starting to subside and I'm getting my appetite back. That pizza sure tasted good last night, but I paid for it later :)

Chip and I are both very, very excited. I can't wait for Rainey to understand that he is going to have a little brother or sister to play with. He is going to be such a great big brother. He is so calm and content and sweet and just downright wonderful. His personality is going to make the transition to two babies a lot easier.

Back from coast

Things have been pretty crazy around here. Earlier in January, Chip, aka George, Daddy, went to California for a few days. Within 36 hours after he got back, he went to Oman (in the UAE somewhere) for a few more days. That being said, Rainey and I headed to the Mississippi Coast to spend some time with Oma and Opa (and let Momma get a break - love that boy but he is a handful). We are finally home and things are back to normal.

Rainey is now 10 1/2 months young and crawling extremely fast. He is pulling up on everything. He can walk around the couch, coffee table, bathroom cabinets, etc. He is even using his "spaceship" to walk around the house. He hasn't tried to let go and walk alone, but the time will come.

No new teeth to speak of. He still has just the two bottom teeth and they are big, considering he doesn't have anymore in his mouth. But let me tell you, that hasn't stopped him from eating "big boy food". He can eat just about anything and has yet to turn anything down. He is weaned from the breast and drinking formula wonderfully. I do have to admit, it is sad. I do miss that mother/son time.

Here are a few pics I took earlier in January. I will try harder to keep them coming more often. He is growing up so fast.

Enjoying a sunny day around the neighborhood.

Playtime at the mall

Enjoying his new bouncy zebra from Oma and Opa (and his new hat)

Watching cartoons

This was a great find at the consignment store, as soon as he saw it, he shrieked :)

Helping Opa on the computer

This is another day where he was "sneaking up" on Opa while he was on the computer.
